Tonight (between Sunday and Monday) the 2024 Grammy Awards ceremony was held in Los Angeles, which was also broadcast live on Bis.

Comedian Trevor Noah hosted for the fourth time in a row.

Taylor Swift is tonight's big winner.

After a huge year in which her tour film broke the box office in theaters and the albums she re-released took over the sales and airplay charts, tonight she tied a record when she won the Grammy Award for album of the year for the fourth time.

The previous ones to reach this milestone are the legends Paul Simon, Frank Sinatra and Stevie Wonder, and unlike them Swift does it when she is only 34 years old.

The award, which was the last of the night, was presented to her by a guest whose presence had been kept a secret until then: Celine Dion.

The iconic singer, who is dealing with a rare neurological disease that affects her muscles, including her voice, received a standing ovation from the audience.

Swift also won the award for best pop vocal album, and when she went up to accept it, she revealed in her acceptance speech that she has a new album on the way.

"I want to say thank you to my fans," she said, "by telling you a secret that I've been keeping from you for the past two years, and that is that my new album comes out on April 19. It's called The Tortured Poets Department."

The awards for Record of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance went to the song "Flowers" by Miley Cyrus, which earned her the first Grammy statuettes of her career.

The song of the year award went to "What Was I Made For" by Billie Eilish from the soundtrack of the movie "Barbie".

SZA, who racked up the most nominations this year with nine, winning two of them: Best Pop Duo/Group Performance shared with Phoebe Bridgers for "Ghost in the Machine," and Best Progressive R&B Album for "SOS" .

Phoebe Bridgers also won three more awards with her band, Boijinis: Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance (both for the song "Not Strong Enough") and Alternative Album of the Year.

Veteran rapper Killer Mike also collected three awards tonight in rap's corresponding categories - best song and performance for Scientists & Engineer and best album for "Michael."

His joy did not last long - a few moments later he was arrested by the police.

The reason, according to the Los Angeles Police Department, is a confrontation he was involved in inside the hall earlier in the afternoon.

The ceremony included, among others, live performances by Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus and SZA, who also has the largest number of nominations.

Also included were performances by some legendary artists: 80-year-old Joni Mitchell appeared for the first time in her history as part of the Grammys, after suffering a brain aneurysm in 2015 that led to a long rehabilitation.

She also won the best folk album award tonight.

She made her appearance alongside Brandi Carlyle and the actresses Meryl Streep and Sandra Holler.

Billy Joel - who appeared at the Grammys for the first time in decades, with a new song released for the first time in almost 20 years - and the band U2 with a performance that was transferred from the special "Hasafra" hall in Las Vegas where they perform every night.

Tracy Chapman joined country singer Luke Combs in a joint performance of the big hit "Fast Car", which Combs revived last year with great success.

Stevie Wonder and Annie Lennox, among others, appeared as part of the "In Memory of" section.

Towards the end of the evening, producer Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, which is responsible for the Grammy Awards, took the stage with a moving tribute to the victims of the Hamas massacre at the Nova Festival. "Music must always be our safe space.

When this thing is violated, it hurts the heart of who we are," he said while a string quartet composed of Israelis and Arabs played below him. "...We felt it again when we heard the tragic news from the 'Supernova for Love' music festival, that over 360 music fans lost their Their lives, and another 40 were kidnapped."

"Let's all agree that music must remain the common ground on which we all stand together in peace and harmony," he added. "Because music has always been one of humanity's great authors.

Think about it: every song we honor or hear tonight touched someone, no matter where they came from or what they believed.

It connected them to others who were moved in the same way."

The edited and translated Grammy ceremony will be broadcast tonight (Monday) at 21:00 on Bis TV Drama.

These are the winners of some of the main awards tonight.
