The legendary songwriter Rachel Shapira, who has written dozens of Israeli songs that have become an iron sheep asset in Israeli culture, added a particularly topical verse to the song "I'll have more" (known to everyone in its opening sentence "One day I might spread my wings") sung by Margalit Tsanani.
In a show she held last night (Monday) at the "Tsvata" club in Tel Aviv, Rachel Shapira told the stories behind the great songs she wrote and when she came to the song "Oud Yahli Li" which became a huge hit, she said that she added a new and updated verse to it.
The new home - according to a photo uploaded by Tal Alexandrovitch to her Twitter page - deals with the desire to see the Israeli abductees return from captivity in the Gaza Strip:
"And maybe tomorrow or
the day after tomorrow we will breathe a sigh of relief
one day we will see them at home
and then there will be great joy"
The songwriter, poet and recipient of the Acomm Lifetime Achievement Award, Rachel Shapira, won a year ago the Rishon Lezion Mayor's Award named after "Meir Ariel" for the year 2023.
