This Tuesday, a young hiker was found dead by Mercantour park rangers, in Allos, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.
According to information from BFM, it is the body of a 22-year-old man, a Chinese student, resident of Hauts-de-Seine and who left with equipment he had just purchased.
Third victim in five days
His body was found in the Grand Pelat mountain area, by two agents from the Mercantour park, who raised the alert this Wednesday around 2 p.m.
Despite the on-site intervention of the Jausiers High Mountain Gendarmerie Platoon, the emergency services were not able to save him.
It appears that the young man died two or three days ago.
An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of his death and when the fall occurred.
It is possible that the man fell from a rocky ledge near Pelat.
This is the third death from a mountain accident in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence in five days.
