The global milk giant in the sights of justice.
The Lactalis company was raided this Tuesday as part of an investigation by the National Financial Prosecutor's Office (PNF) opened for aggravated tax fraud and laundering of aggravated tax fraud, a judicial source told AFP, confirming information from Le Monde .
According to information from the newspaper Le Monde, the company's headquarters in Laval (Mayenne), the offices of the Montparnasse tower, as well as the private mansion of CEO Emmanuel Besnier, in the 7th arrondissement, were allegedly targeted by the operation of the National Brigade for the Suppression of Tax Delinquency.
According to Le Monde, Lactalis would be the target of a preliminary investigation by the National Financial Prosecutor's Office (PNF) for aggravated tax fraud and laundering of aggravated tax fraud.
The investigation would have been opened in 2018, after revelations from Mediacité, Ebdo, Les Jours and Mediapart according to which Lactalis had several financial subsidiaries in Belgium and Luxembourg.
These subsidiaries are suspected of having been used to suck up the group's profits to reduce its tax rate in France.
