A major security device made up of eight CRS vans surrounded the Valence courthouse on Tuesday afternoon in order to prevent any excess during the hearing of seven defendants tried for having participated in the ultra-right parade in Romans- sur-Isère, more than two months ago.

This unauthorized demonstration was held on the evening of November 25, 2023, in reaction to the death of Thomas Perotto, 16, fatally stabbed at the end of a village ball in Crépol (Drôme), on the night of November 18. November 19.
Young people from La Monnaie, a working-class district of Romans-sur-Isère located about a twenty-minute drive from Crépol, were quickly named by the victims and witnesses of the tragedy as Thomas' alleged murderers.
It is therefore towards this part of the city that nearly 80 ultra-right activists headed on November 25, around 6 p.m., responding to a national appeal launched on several social networks whose slogan was “ Justice for Thomas, neither forgotten nor pardoned.”
