With a double statement issued in Munich and Tokyo, Infineon Technologies and Honda Motor Co announced that they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to "build a strategic collaboration" in the semiconductor sector.
The two companies also agreed to continue discussions on supply stability, as well as encourage the transfer of mutual knowledge and collaborate on projects aimed at accelerating the time to market of technologies.
"Infineon's system understanding, broad product portfolio and exceptional quality have made us a valued partner for the Japanese automotive industry," said Peter Schiefer, president of Infineon's automotive division.
"We are honored to be the semiconductor partner for a strategic collaboration with Honda. Further intensifying a long-standing partnership is always a confirmation of the added value created and at the same time an expression of confidence in contributing to future successes."
Infineon has approximately 58,600 employees worldwide and generated revenue of approximately 16.3 billion euros in fiscal 2023.
