A 28-year-old Danish MP defended his relationship with a 15-year-old girl on Thursday.
He was then back in Parliament after sick leave following the revelation of this affair which caused him to be excluded from his party.
“I can tell you that my girlfriend and I have a good relationship.
It suits us and we love each other,” Mike Fonseca told the press, acknowledging that he “understands” that their attachment can be surprising.
This relationship was revealed to the public in mid-November.
Mike Fonseca had been excluded from his center-right party, the Moderates, which is in government.
After almost three months of sick leave, he now sits as an independent.

In Denmark, sexual majority is established at 15 years old and the police announced last week that the investigation for sexual predation against him had been closed.
“The age of criminal responsibility is also set at 15 years, which means that you can be held responsible for your decisions and your choices when you are 15 years old,” argued the MP in an article published in the newspaper online Altinget.
“I therefore allow myself to consider people aged 15 to 17 as mature enough to make important choices,” he added.
The identity of the teenager has not been revealed but the deputy claimed to have obtained consent from her parents.
“We have confidence in her and in Mike.
If we had locked her up and forbidden her to do that, she probably would have done it anyway, and the bond of trust would have been completely broken,” they told the tabloid Ekstra Bladet on condition of anonymity. .
For the president of his former party, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lars Løkke Rasmussen, this relationship is “totally incompatible with the role of politician within the moderate party”.
“This is a young girl who is only 15 years old and whose relationship began when she was in fourth grade,” he told TV2 television.
“We cannot have MPs who have regular sex with minors.”
