At the end of January, the dramatic fatal accident which cost the life of an 8-year-old boy on the slopes of Grand-Bornand (Haute-Savoie) left this Aravis resort in mourning.
The little skier died after falling on a black slope, which was closed because it was icy and therefore too dangerous.
He would have lost control of his skis on a blue slope and would have mistakenly entered this wall of hard snow.

His helmet was not enough to save his life.
This accident with its tragic outcome is unfortunately not isolated.
For several days, rescuers working in French ski areas or in the mountains have noted an increase in the number of injured people.
