A simple roadside check and a whole situation changes.
A man, wanted since 2018 for acts of break-ins and attempted break-ins, was arrested on Wednesday in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), the prosecution announced in a press release that Le Parisien was able to consult.
Brought before the Marseille judicial court at the end of his police custody, he was sentenced to 36 months of imprisonment, 18 of which were suspended.
It all starts on March 26, 2023. While a burglary, with damage estimated at 100,000 euros, is committed in a villa located in Roquevaire (Bouches-du-Rhône), the gendarmes quickly identify a suspect thanks to technical police operations and scientific.
Wanted for facts in several departments
“The DNA of this suspect, known to the courts under different aliases, was found in seven other proceedings opened for acts of break-ins and attempted break-ins committed between July 2018 and July 2021 in the departments of Ain , Bouches-du-Rhône, Haute-Savoie and Gironde,” then specifies the Marseille prosecutor’s office.
A few months later, investigators finally got their hands on this suspect during a traffic stop.
He was arrested by the police last January while driving without a license and under the influence of drugs.
“This operation having made it possible to locate the suspect, the competent public prosecutor's offices on the previous acts of burglaries and attempted burglaries relinquished in favor of the Marseille public prosecutor's office and the gendarmes proceeded to his arrest on February 7,” then details the judicial court of Marseille.
Referred to the public prosecutor's office at the end of his custody, the suspect was sentenced by the criminal court to 36 months of criminal imprisonment, 18 of which were suspended during the 2-year probation period.
He was imprisoned after the hearing.
