The speed camera marathon 2024 has been announced.
There is a risk of hefty fines and points in Flensburg.
The peak is on April 19th.
Every year not only does the Christ child come, but also the speed camera marathon.
Mobile speed cameras will then be set up all over Germany.
However, the police do not give out gifts; instead, caught speeders receive fines and points in Flensburg.
There will be another speed camera marathon in 2024.

reports, the campaign week will take place from April 15th to 21st this year.
The police are also hunting down speeders in other EU countries as part of “Roadpol Operation Speed”.
In Germany the peak is on Friday, April 19th.
Then the actual speed camera marathon begins, during which speed checks take place from early in the morning until late at night.

Speed camera marathon 2024: Police will be hunting speeders in April
It is not yet known which federal states will take part this year.
Last year, almost all federal states as well as Hamburg took part in the campaign.
Only Berlin, Bremen, Thuringia and Saarland were missing from the 2023 speed camera marathon.

Despite the announcements in the run-up to the week of action, the police are catching many drivers.
In 2023, around 13,300 violations were found in Baden-Württemberg alone.
In the neighboring state of Bavaria, 8,690 road users were caught speeding.

But what penalties are there if you get caught during the speed camera marathon 2024?
This initially depends on where you were traveling too fast.
Offenses in built-up areas are generally punished more severely.
The fines have increased significantly in recent years.
In the city center it now starts at just under 60 euros - points in Flensburg are too fast from 21 km/h:
