The facts appear serious enough to have led to the arrest of four teenagers.
These boys aged 12 to 14 were arrested this Sunday, February 11 by Greater Manchester police, the authority said in a press release.
They are suspected of the rape of a “young girl” in Rochdale (United Kingdom) north-east of Manchester.
Investigators did not say the victim's age, but they were called at 6 p.m. Saturday after receiving a call about the rape of a "young female."
To several British media, the police clarified that it was a “child”.
Scientific and dog teams dispatched
The facts allegedly occurred in the Newbold district, in the parking lot of a supermarket, approximately 100 m from the entrance to the store and approximately 50 m from the tram stop which serves the area, according to the Manchester Evening News .
The location was secured and forensic officers were dispatched to the site.
According to the BBC, a police spokesperson said a dog team had been used to search the undergrowth in the area.

The four teenagers are currently in custody for questioning by police.
They are aged 12, 13, 14 and 14 years old.
No information has been communicated on the alleged facts.
The victim is “currently being looked after by specialist investigators”, adds Greater Manchester Police.
Law enforcement is asking anyone who has information on this matter to contact them.
