Three people were killed Monday in a shooting inside the premises of a shipping company in the seaside suburb of Athens, AFP learned from a police source.
The shooter was also found dead with his gun next to him, according to Greek news agency ANA.
The man barricaded himself in the morning in these premises located in Glyfada, with a rifle.
“Negotiations are underway with the person removed,” said an employee of the police press office.
Several streets in the area were cordoned off by police.

Police officers entered the building and evacuated two women whom the perpetrator had locked in the toilet, police told AFP.
According to several Greek media, the perpetrator of the shots is a dismissed employee of this company and of Egyptian origin but the police have not yet confirmed this information.
In addition to Piraeus, a large port near Athens, many Greek and foreign shipping companies have premises in Glyfada, a seaside area in the south of Athens.
