The Strasbourg police may have saved a wedding before it took place.

This morning, the national police of Bas-Rhin landed on X (formerly Twitter) with a promise: “the great story of the day”.

Strasbourg law enforcement discovered a wedding ring during a search in January.

It had been stolen and investigators found the trail of the unfortunate owner.

How ?

On the jewelry box, an address, that of an Italian jeweler, reports France Bleu Alsace.

The police officers - and love - reach him thanks to the linguistic abilities of one of their colleagues.

The jeweler then indicates the name and address of the owner of the wedding ring to the Italian-speaking police officer.

And that's good, he's a police officer from Naples and based on the French-Italian border, in Ventimiglia.

The beautiful story of the day

They will therefore take the opportunity to recover the precious ring.

Where will the request take place?

Obviously, the lucky lady has discovered her companion's plans.

However, the Bas-Rhin police took care to blur the ring when they shared this story “so as not to spoil the surprise even more”.

And if Strasbourg is full of places suitable for a marriage proposal, French officials have suggested an idea to their Italian counterpart.

“Perhaps he will make his request on the steps of the police station… To be continued.
