All guilty.
Five teenage girls, aged 15 to 16, were prosecuted for gang violence, death threats, capturing and disseminating pornographic images of minors using an electronic communications network.
The courts also accused them of having broadcast these images of the attack at the beginning of January during which the victim had been partially naked, considering that they aimed to voluntarily "attack the integrity of the person", which was described at the time by the prosecution as “happy slapping” (filmed assault).
In this sequence filmed on Snapchat, we can see the victim being punched in the back, as well as kicked, on the ground.
As her hair is pulled, she is copiously showered with insults.
“Dirty buffoon”, “dirty cunt”, we hear.
As well as threats: “If I hear that you filed a complaint about the Koran in Mecca, I will fuck your mother.
» Other images show the victim in a bra and panties, pushed to run and walk by her attackers.
Another attack the day before
At the end of a closed-door hearing which lasted nearly ten hours, all the minors were found guilty by the Le Havre children's court.
However, he partially reclassified the facts, considering in particular that the images broadcast were not of a pornographic nature but did harm the physical integrity of the victim.
The sentence will be pronounced during sanction hearings, scheduled between September 5 and 17.
“The group effect
extremized
the violence and was the driving force behind this aggression,” explained Me Elisa Haussetête, lawyer for one of the defendants.
“All five of them expressed sincere regrets,” added the lawyer who will not appeal.
Until their sanction is known, four minors remain subject to the legal measures handed down in January by the prosecution.
Namely, a judicial control with educational placement, respect for a curfew, ban on coming into contact with the victim or co-perpetrators and on leaving Seine-Maritime.
The fifth remains placed in a closed educational center.
Among the five young people, some had already hit another 14-year-old girl the day before this attack, on January 8, who had filed a complaint.
The case will be judged at a later date.
