Until about three years ago, a price range of NIS 170,000 belonged to executive cars, such as the Mazda 6 and Skoda Superb.
Now NIS 170,000 is the price tag of the base version of the renewed Hyundai Elantra hybrid, which was launched today in Israel.
When the current generation of the model was launched in Israel in November 2021, its price started at NIS 148,000.
Valentra is not alone: the competing hybrid Toyota Corolla already costs from NIS 165,000.
Elantra will continue to rely on its two main advantages: a minority of hybrid competitors in the market and the excellent fuel consumption, which is an attractive point compared to crossovers.
However, it will continue to be sold mainly to fleets and less to the private audience.
The facelift includes, as usual, a renewed front and updated rears that added 4 cm to its length, to 4.71 meters. Good luck with parking in blue and white next to the sidewalk. The
passenger cabin looks almost the same but has been given higher quality materials and additional equipment, including safety. There is no change in the drive system remaining with A non-turbo gasoline engine with a volume of 1,600 cc, which together with the electric motor produces 139 hp. There is also no change in the combined fuel consumption figure, which remains at 22.7 km per liter.

The Premium base version (from NIS 170,000 as mentioned), includes an 8-inch multimedia screen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay pairing, light 16-inch rims, split climate control, reverse camera, smart key for remote entry and drive.
The next level, Supreme (from NIS 173,000), upgrades to a 10.25-inch digital dashboard, light 17-inch rims, wireless charging for a smartphone, rear and front parking sensors, electric sunroof and LED headlights.
The Luxury level (for NIS 180,000) already comes with an electric driver's seat, leather upholstery and heating and ventilation for the front seats.

The Elantra continues to arrive in American standard, without disconnecting the airbag in front and with side mirrors that have a smaller field of view than is customary in European mirrors.
The safety equipment includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with lane center saving, automatic high beam and child neglect warning.
The two high equipment levels add a warning of a vehicle in a dead zone and prevention of lane change in the event of a collision risk and emergency braking when driving backwards alongside a warning of a collision risk in reverse.
