He had to get off the dominant Ducati-Pramac to get on a Honda of the LCR team, but JahannZarco still hopes to "have the opportunity to fight for the podium", explained the French rider, during the presentation of his new bike.
"I want to stay at the front, have the opportunity to fight at least for the podium or even more if the opportunity presents itself," Zarco said in a video, less than a month before the first Grand Prix of the season in Qatar.
Winner of his first MotoGP Grand Prix in Australia last year, Zarco has one goal: "To bring Honda back into the top 10".
Not an easy goal because the pace is high: Honda finished last of the five manufacturers in 2023 and Honda-LCR tenth of the eleven teams.
The structure led by Lucio Cecchinello nevertheless won the Grand Prix of the Americas, thanks to Alex Rins, who left for Yamaha and was replaced by Zarco.
The livery of Zarco's motorbike will be white, green and red like the rider's suit, in the colors of the sponsor Castrol, a brand of engine lubricants.
His teammate Takaaki Nakagami will compete with the colors of Idemitsu, the second Japanese oil refiner.
