The Ferrari myth is still alive after 75 years.
Many sports cars from Maranello sell for large sums at auction.
The most expensive one for over 30 million euros

This Ferrari 250 California, owned by actor Alain Delon, was considered missing for over 50 years.
It was quite by chance that he was found again in a French farmhouse.
At the Artcurial auction in Paris, the highest bid was an impressive 18.5 million US dollars (17.2 million euros).

Only 10 examples of the sports car were built.
The vehicles were built specifically for Luigi Chinetti, the American Ferrari importer and North American Racing Team (NART) owner, to open-top specification.
At an RM Sotheby's auction, the sports car achieved a highest bid of 27.5 million US dollars (25.58 million euros).

6 / 105th place – Ferrari 290 MM: With the 290 MM, another successful sports car has made it into the ranking.
Among other things, it was piloted in the Mille Miglia (1956) by Formula 1 legend Juan Manuel Fangio.
Phill Hill also won the 1956/57 sports car world championship with it.
So it's no wonder that the 290 MM was auctioned off in 2015 for a whopping $28.05 million (26.1 million euros).

7 / 104th place – Ferrari 412P Berlinetta: Another very rare example.
Only two vehicles were built from the 412P Berlinetta.
This was extensively restored over nine years and made fit for the road.
Another highlight of the Ferrari comes with “Matching Numbers”.
This means that the engine and body bear the number 0854. The Ferrari 412P Berlinetta came third in both Spa and LeMans in 1967.
The sports car was auctioned by the Bonhams auction house as part of the Monterey Car Week 2023 in the USA.
At the “Quail” auction, the 412P Berlinetta brought in a whopping $30.25 million (around €27.8 million).

8 / 10 2nd place - Ferrari 335 S: It's not just in North America that money is easy when it comes to one of the legendary sports cars from Maranello.
In 2016, a Ferrari 335 S went to a strong buyer at Artcurial in Paris for $35.71 million (€33.32 million).
Probably also because it was an official Scuderia works car that was driven by Peter Collins and Maurice Trintignant at the 12 Hours of Sebring, by Wolfgang von Trips at the Mille Miglia and by Stirling Moss and Masten Gregory at the 1958 Cuban Grand Prix .

From 1899 to 1986 there was also a rating for cars.
Of course Ferrari wouldn't be missing.
Among other things, they launched in 1962 with a 250 GTO.
The car fetched $38.115 million (€35.46 million) at a Bonham auction.

10 / 101st place - Ferrari 330 LM/250 GTO: The Italians' most valuable sports car currently dates back to 1962. It was also very successful in sport and finished the 1000-kilometer race on the Nürburgring in second place.
At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Mike Parkes and Lorenzo Bandini fought for victory.

But there is one thing that makes the 330 LM special: it is a unique piece from the 250 GTO family.
At an RM Sotherny's auction in 2023, the sports car fetched an impressive $51.7 million (47.9 million euros).
This made it the most expensive classic car of the previous year.

As you get older, some things increase in value, such as a fine bottle of wine or certain automobiles.
In particular, vehicles with Ferrari's iconic Prancing Horse on the hood can increase significantly in value over the years.
Even a rusty 500 Mondial can reach an estimated value of around one million euros.
A former Formula 1 car once driven by Michael Schumacher has been sold for over 14 million euros.
A LaFerrari can also fetch a high price at auction - up to 8.3 million euros.
Even more impressive is the proceeds from a Ferrari 412P Berlinetta from 1967. The racing car sold for 27.8 million euros, making it the fourth most valuable Ferrari ever.
This year the sports car manufacturer is celebrating its 75th birthday.
Reason enough to collect the most valuable sports cars.
