The girl's body was found in mid-January.
A 15-year-old teenager was indicted and placed in pre-trial detention for the rape and murder of a teenage girl in a blended family from Bain-de-Bretagne (Ille-et-Vilaine), announced this Saturday the public prosecutor of Rennes.
The accused admitted the attack on the daughter of his mother's companion during his hearing by investigators, said Philippe Astruc.
Confused by DNA
On Saturday January 13 afternoon, “the lifeless body of a 15-year-old girl” was discovered by her father at the family home.
According to the prosecution, the autopsy carried out on January 15 did not make it possible to “determine with certainty the cause of death”.
Biological analyzes of samples taken during the autopsy, however, revealed “the presence of unknown male DNA”.
“In addition, it appeared that the victim may have suffered sexual violence,” indicated Philippe Astruc.
The two boys of the teenager's father's partner, living in the same home as the victim, were taken into police custody almost a month after the discovery of the body on February 12.
DNA samples were taken and “the results provided by the laboratory make it possible to identify the older” of the two brothers, aged 13 and 15.
The youngest was released.
