Around 3 o'clock in the night from Friday to Saturday in the middle of the street in Saint-Martin-d'Hères, a town bordering Grenoble (Isère), a 26-year-old man was shot dead in a "settling of scores", indicated the Grenoble prosecutor, Éric Vaillant.
Warned by calls to 17, the firefighters and the police found the man face down, on the sidewalk, with “a significant wound in the back”, caused by a “hunting weapon type” shot.
A passerby had been trying to resuscitate him for several minutes.
Despite being taken care of by the firefighters, the SMUR doctor declared the death at the scene of the tragedy.
According to testimony, the man was targeted while he was walking his dog, from a vehicle, a Clio, with several people on board.
Several shots were fired.
Other apparent bullet holes were noted on “a vehicle located about fifteen meters away as well as on a door jamb”.
A burnt car was found shortly after, in the same town and a “partially charred” shotgun was discovered, which could correspond to the ammunition found.
The investigation was entrusted to the organized and specialized crime division of Grenoble (formerly the judicial police).
