The new Alpine A290 tested in the cold, with the first tests at the Arctic Circle.

The future city car has in fact reached the testing phase on the icy roads of Sweden, with the aim of perfecting the low-grip setup in extreme weather conditions, with temperatures that can drop below -30°C.

It is in these conditions that Alpine's technical teams are testing the prototypes on tracks and open roads, to guarantee the performance and safety of Alpine's future electric vehicle.

All technical areas are subjected to full-scale testing to ensure that the required performance levels are achieved.

As on any Alpine, particular attention has been paid to dynamic performance on the A290, from engine responsiveness to steering precision and agility, to offer an optimal driving experience even in extreme conditions.

Many equipment such as heating, quality of demisting and defrosting and ESC (Electronic Stability Control) on snow are also tested.

For its first official release, the A290 is sporting an original Alpine camouflage with A roof logo and Alpine Blue color.

The prototype presents itself for the first time with a definitive bodywork, confirming its dimensions of 3,990 mm in length, 1,820 mm in width, 1,520 mm in height and a wheelbase of 2,530 mm.

For the A290 it is also the opportunity to reveal the exclusive Alpine sports steering wheel in Nappa leather, with a flattened shape and midpoint, all elements that refer to motorsport, always present in the brand's DNA.
