A natural park to visit with zero emissions on site, this is the concept that probably led the British Yorkshire's National Parks to install 18 charging stations for electric cars.
The project, carried out in collaboration with BMW, involved the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the North York Moors National Park.
This is an important first step in the Recharge in Nature project which, by 2025, will see the installation of electric vehicle charging points in all 15 national parks in the UK.
The initiative, lasting three years, aims to support the use of battery-powered vehicles also for the work of employees in the parks, to help reduce both locally produced emissions and noise pollution in these protected areas.
