But an online auction by Car&Bids - which will close on February 21st - has now revealed that Joseph Robinette Biden Jr, born in 1942 (this is the name that appears on the registration certificate) was the owner between 2017 and 2020 of a powerful Cadillac ATS-V V6 turbo with 464 HP.
The car was purchased by Biden, or rather leased, from the historic Cadillac dealership in Wilmington, Delaware (he has been selling these cars for over 100 years) shortly after completing his two terms as Barack Obama's vice president.
And it remained available until 2020, when he beat Donald Trump to become the 46th president of the United States.
The example in question - which is being offered at the Car&Bids online auction with only 15,900 miles driven - belongs to the high-performance ATS-V series.
It is finished in Raven Black over a Kona Brown interior, a unique specification, according to documentation built specifically for Biden.
Other details include 18-inch CT4-V Blackwing wheels and the Rennick Performance trim package.
At the moment the offers for this truly unique Cadillac have reached 70 thousand dollars, but it is to be believed that - given the state and the attached documentation - this 'executive' car will rise further in price, and then end up in some American collection or museum .
The ex-Biden Cadillac ATS-V proposed by Car&Bids is not the only car once owned by a US president to arrive on the market this year.
At the end of January, the 1997 Lamborghini Diablo VT previously owned by Donald Trump changed hands at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale for the significant sum of $1.7 million.
