McLaren is ready to debut in the WEC, the world endurance championship, with the 720S GT3 EVO managed by the United Autosport team in the new LM GT3 class.
In 2024, the British company will thus find itself competing, for the first time in its history, in the three races of the so-called triple crown: the Monaco F1 Grand Prix;
the Indianapolis 500;
and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The livery of the English cars is divided into three sections, with the front part of the car changing from satin black to glossy black, while in the rear area the orange, typical of McLaren, stands out, also present on the rear wing and on the aerodynamic elements front.
The numbering of the two McLaren 720S GT3 EVOs, which will race with numbers 59 and 95 respectively, is a clear reference to the victory in the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans with the F1 GTR number 59. In terms of crews, they will be Gregoire Saucy , James Cottingham, and Nicolas Costa to share the wheel of car number 59;
while Marino Sato, Nico Pino, and Josh Caygill, will race in car number 95. The season will start with the official prologue, in Qatar, on 24 and 25 February, while the first of the 8 seasonal events is scheduled, again in Qatar , on March 2nd.
