According to information from Midi Libre, the victim would be a 39-year-old Gardois man.

The father would be known to the police.

He would have been convicted “in the context of cases of violence, weapons and drugs” and would be monitored by a sentence enforcement judge.

For the moment, the reasons for his presence near the deal point have not been determined.

Three bullets found

According to the child's initial statements, the victim was on foot at the time of the incident, and was heading towards his car, targeted by at least three shots.

His 8-year-old son, present in the vehicle, was not hit or injured, indicates AFP.

In a video circulating on social networks, the victim's body appears lying on the ground, right next to his vehicle.

According to BFMTV, the man was hit by three bullets: two of them were found at the level of the shoulder blades and a third under the ribs.

Three 7.62 caliber shell casings were found at the crime scene.

The caliber of the cartridge cases would correspond to that used for Kalashnikovs.

Three suspects were arrested Tuesday evening in Marseille, aboard a vehicle geolocated at the crime scene.

The Nîmes public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation for "murder".

The investigations are entrusted to the Montpellier judicial police.
