Highlights: Hennessey will celebrate Venom GT's record with new venture - Mondo Motori. It's February 2014 and an aggressive yet little-known supercar, named Hennessey Venom GT, becomes the fastest car in the world with a top speed of 435.311 km/h. The new Venom F5 optimized for this feat exceeded 270 miles per hour (434.522 km/) on the runway of the Shuttle Landing Facility, formerly NASA, at Cape Canaveral in Florida. It does so by beating the record held by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport which at the time had stopped the photocells at 432,688.

It's February 2014 and an aggressive yet little-known supercar, named Hennessey Venom GT, becomes the fastest car in the world with a top speed of 435.311 km/h.

It does so by beating the record held by the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport which at the time had stopped the photocells at 432,688.

Now, after having delivered 22 examples of the Venom F5 to customers over the past ten years and having expanded its team of engineers, Hennessey Special Vehicles is ready to face a new challenge, that of exceeding 500 km/h, improving the record held today from Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut.

To go beyond this limit, John Hennessey, founder and CEO of the company, hired the former chief engineer of AMG One Brian Jones and the driver who holds the 2023 Pikes Peak record David Donohue.

The new Venom F5 optimized for this feat exceeded 270 miles per hour (434.522 km/) on the runway of the Shuttle Landing Facility, formerly NASA, at Cape Canaveral in Florida.

“Our hypercar – Hennessey said – has a theoretical top speed of 328 miles per hour (527.86 km/h) but we are certainly not chasing that number.”

"Exceeding 300 miles per hour traveling on the track in both directions - said the Texan manufacturer - is the goal for this year, to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Venom GT's feat".

Designers and technicians are working to obtain the best combination between the ultra-light carbon frame and the 1,187 HP twin-turbo V8 'Fury' engine.

This output - according to Brian Jones, technical vice president of Hennessey "combined with only 1,360 kg of mass offers the possibility of reaching extreme dynamic capabilities".
