His relatives had been worried about his disappearance for almost a week.
The lifeless body of a woman was discovered on Wednesday near Lorient and a suspect was arrested, announced the prosecution, which opened an investigation for “voluntary homicide”.
The body was discovered "in the afternoon near some undergrowth in the Lorient area", declared Lorient public prosecutor Stéphane Kellenberger, without giving details of the identity of the victim.
His body showed “wounds possibly caused by a stab, which the medico-legal autopsy will have to better determine this Thursday,” he added.
Investigation for “voluntary homicide”
“A man in his twenties was taken into custody” on Wednesday morning, a “measure which will have to be extended”, he said, confirming information from Ouest-France.
The investigation, initially opened for “disturbing disappearance”, was reclassified as a criminal investigation for “intentional homicide”, indicated the public prosecutor.
According to the newspaper, the victim would be 32 years old.
His relatives had posted a wanted notice on social networks on February 15, two days before the prosecution opened the investigation for “disturbing disappearance”.
Traces of blood were discovered at his home, according to the regional daily.
