of unexpected responses from ChatGPT," OpenAI reported on the service's status website.
"It feels like my GPT
has been haunted
," lamented one programmer.

the problem was reported,
OpenAI updated
its site with a message announcing the restoration of normal service.
The immediate success of the generative interface sparked strong interest in this technology capable of receiving simple instructions and producing complex texts, codes, sounds, images and more recently video, with its new tool "Sora".
The strange responses that ChatGPT gave to its users while it was "haunted"
The English newspaper Independent compiled some of the cases reported by users during the hours in which the Artificial Intelligence tool "was as if haunted."
Some found that asking simple questions, such as “

generated paragraphs and paragraphs of incoherent sentences.

In another example, ChatGPT spouted nonsense when asked
how to make sun-dried tomatoes

One of the steps, he told users, was to "use it as a loved one.
Abandon the new morsel of fruit
in your beloved kitchen," the curious artificial recipe recommended.
Others found that the system appeared to be
losing control over the languages
it speaks.
Some found that he seemed to be
mixing Spanish words with English
, using
Latin
, or apparently making up words that appeared to be from another language but actually made no sense.
Other users and developers even said that the
responses seemed to have become worrying
.
When asked for help with a coding issue, ChatGPT wrote a long, confusing, and largely illogical response that included the phrase "Let's hold the line
as if there were AI in the room
."
"Reading this at 2 in the morning
is scary
," wrote the affected user on the social network Reddit.
On its official status page, OpenAI noted the issues but gave no explanation as to why they might be happening.
