The Fiat brand increased global sales by 12% in 2023 with 1.35 million units sold worldwide and confirmed itself as Stellantis' top brand in terms of sales volume.
It has achieved significant results in Europe, South America, the Middle East and Africa, with a share of 21.8% in Brazil, 12.8% in Italy, 15.7% in Turkey and 78.6% in Algeria, with several top models: Fiat Strada in Brazil, Panda in Italy, Tipo in Turkey and Algeria.
"In the last year we have grown globally, consolidating our position as a world player and, for the third consecutive year, Fiat has proven to be the leading Stellantis brand in terms of volumes, marking a +12% globally compared to last year and thus contributing to the excellent results of the Group" comments Olivier Francois, CEO of Fiat and global marketing manager of Stellantis.
"In 2023 in Europe - he recalls - we launched two important new products: the new Fiat 600, which marks Fiat's return to the B segment, and the new Topolino. In South America Fiat confirmed its leadership with a share of 14.5%, as well as in Brazil, in the Middle East and Africa. We have confirmed our key role in Turkey and, thanks to the new plant in Algeria, we have entered an important new market, gaining leadership. We are ready for a great 2024".
The 500e was number one in Europe in the A+B Bev segment with a market share of 14.7%, up 0.3 points compared to 2022. It also ranked first in Italy, Germany, Spain, Belgium and Austria and second place in France.
In Italy, Fiat is the leader in the car market with 175,000 units sold, equal to 11.1% of the market share for the entire year.
The Fiat Panda Hybrid, produced in Pomigliano, was the best-selling in Italy for the twelfth consecutive year.
Together with the Fiat 500 Hybrid, the brand achieved a 66.5% share in the city car segment.
The Fiat 500e, produced in Turin Mirafiori, was the best-selling electric city car in Italy.
The Fiat 500X, produced in Melfi, has grown by 25% compared to 2022.
