The A110 Alpine berlinetta, the best-selling sports car in Europe, has its tail sprouted in Zagato's atelier, becoming the new and exclusive AGtz Twin Tail.
In this version (unofficial, it should be noted) the Renault Group car will become a collector's grand tourer which will be made - in collaboration with the Polish top car specialist La Squadra - in just 19 examples.

And sold with a base price starting from 650,000 euros.
AGtz Twin Tail - the latest creation by Andrea Zagato and his team - is inspired by a famous Le Mans racing car, the 1968 Alpine A220 and is a modern car that is certainly original and 'outside the box' not only for its strong reference to the past, but also because it brings the values of the racing tradition to the world of the most exclusive sports cars, without being a racing car that can only be driven on the track.
Ours has always been a body shop for grand touring models - said Andrea Zagato - producing cars capable of racing but which could also be used every day on the road, and of course be put on display on the lawn of a concours d'elegance.
This is the reason for the name AGtz and the objectives of our project". The berlinetta is sold by La Squadra (which takes care of the marketing) with a double appendage for the tail in carbon fiber, easily applicable and removable. The owner of the AGtz can therefore decide to install it to give the car a spectacular long-tail look, or you can leave it detached, kept in your garage, to circulate in traffic and not be unable to park.
Zagato's designers and craftsmen also worked on other parts of the series model.
This is the case of the reworking of the nose and headlights of the standard Alpine A110, of the modifications to the sides with the addition of two new air intakes on the rear sides, which connect with the connection point for the extension of the tail.
There are also small details that recall the tradition of the Milanese coachbuilder (born in 1919) such as the raised lower edge of the side windows taken from the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato or the slight curvature of the roof, as in several sports cars of the past.
