The 100th edition of the Geneva International Motor Show returns to its true home, Switzerland, after four years of absence and two 'trips' to Qatar, the rich partner of the event organisers.

    A corporate entry, that of Qatar Tourism, which had made it possible to remedy the serious difficulties following the last-minute cancellation of spring 2020, at the outbreak of the Covid epidemic.

    And which has allowed the two editions of the Doha Motor Show - branded Geneva - to once again give visibility to this historic exhibition of cars and technologies.

This year too the event will take place at Palexpo', the Geneva exhibition center located opposite the airport, where - as usual - it will be increasingly difficult to arrive by car.

    The Geneva region, moreover, and the Swiss Confederation do not view the car with particular attention, pushing much more on collective transport.

It is no coincidence that one of the works of the sculptor Philippe Geluck was exhibited on Lake Geneva, whose large cat - symbol of the natural world - crushes with its weight what remains of a car.

    And the organizers themselves specify that the Show can be reached "by bus, via lines 5, 28 and Y at the Palexpo' stop. Or by train to the Genève Aéroport station which is a 10-minute walk away. And finally with two free shuttles in the morning and in the evening which ensure the connection between Annemasse (the nearby town across the border with France) and the Palexpo.

    For the centenary edition, the organizers of the Geneva Motor Show certainly do not expect the 600 thousand visitors of the last real event, that of 2019. "Our goal - they declared - is to reach the number of 200 thousand presences, also because the 2024 format is more compact".

    An advantageous scheme for the rental of spaces and the setting up of the stands. Compared to the past for 2024 in the negotiations with the car manufacturers and other potential exhibitors, the organizers immediately realized that the relationship between cost and participation was an even more important aspect in deciding to be at Geneva.

    A 'low cost' formula was thus launched, with turnkey stands, which the participants wouldn't even have to build.

And 'thematic areas' have been created to direct the desired flow of visitors to the most useful areas.

    Despite all this, however, there will only be eleven brands from the automotive sector at Palexpò, with the most important presence being Renault and Dacia.

There will also be Byd, ErreErre, Isuzu, Kimera, Lucid, MG, Microlino, Pininfarina, Totem.

    These are the programs for each day: Monday 26 February (reserved for the press) 7.30am - 6.00pm;

Tuesday 27 February (VIP day) 7.30am - 6.00pm;

Wednesday 28 February 10:00 - 20:00;
