Canadian actor Kenneth Mitchell died yesterday (Saturday) at the age of 49 due to complications from the muscular dystrophy he suffered from, his family announced on social media.
Mitchell played in the series "Star Trek: Discovery" in four different roles - three of them under make-up as Klingons, and the fourth as Aurelio, who used a wheelchair like the actor himself.
He also played in the series "Jericho", "The Old Man", "Odyssey 5", "Nancy Drew" and many others, as well as in the cinema, among others in the movie "Captain Marvel".
In a message published by his family on social networks, they wrote: "It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kenneth Alexander Mitchell, a beloved father, husband, brother, uncle, son and dear friend to many. Ken was famous as an actor in many films and television shows. He played an Olympic hopeful, a survivor Apocalypse, an astronaut, a superheroine's father, and four different interstellar travelers."

"For five and a half years, Ken faced a series of terrible challenges from ALS," the statement added.
"And according to Ken's character, he managed to rise above each of them with grace and commitment to live a full and happy life in every moment. He lives by the principles that every day is a gift and that we never walk alone. His life is a shining example of how full a person can be when he lives with love, Compassion, humor, inclusiveness and community...Ken is forever grateful for the immense amounts of love and endless support he has received from his community throughout this journey. Especially the courage, resilience and strength shown by his extraordinary wife, family and friends."
