A man in his forties was taken into custody for intentional homicide of a spouse in Cagnes-sur-Mer, near Nice in the Alpes-Maritimes.

Born in 1982, this man, residing with his partner who was herself born in 1980 in this coastal town, called the firefighters himself Monday morning to report that his partner was injured, specifies the Grasse public prosecutor's office.

“On site, the emergency services noted the death of the victim who showed traces of blows,” notes the Grasse public prosecutor’s office.

“The first investigations revealed that he (the companion) was under the influence of alcohol and narcotics,” adds the prosecution, specifying that the accused is known to the courts for numerous offenses.

A femicide every three days

According to a police source, a police intervention took place at 1:30 a.m., near the André-Malraux college, according to Nice-Matin.
