around the Puy de Sancy where the wind never forgets to greet each of our passages.

» The last message published on Facebook by guide David Vigouroux, a few hours before his death, sounds like a final thumbs-up to destiny.

At the age of 50, this seasoned professional, originally from Aurillac in Cantal, died on Sunday February 25 in Val d'Enfer, a steep off-piste valley in the Mont-Dore resort, renowned for its difficulty.

A well-known personality in the world of mountaineers, passionate and lover of the great outdoors, David Vigouroux leaves behind a son and an entire community who recognized him as a “huge professional”.

“David, he was a great guy!”

Like all mountain people, he had a lot of heart and passion for his profession.

He wasn't reckless either.

He knew the risks.

He knew what he was doing.

He was a genius in love with his mountains,” comments with sadness his colleague from the Bureau des guides d’Auvergne, which he helped to found.
