The offensive of the Chinese electric and electrified car giant BYD (which allowed itself to overtake Tesla in sales) is expanding to the premium segment.
It does so with the new Denza sub-brand and in particular with the N7 SUV which is shown for the first time in Europe at the Geneva International Motor Show.
This brand is not new to China and has noble origins, as it was founded in 2010, as a joint venture between BYD and Mercedes-Benz dedicated to providing high-end automotive products tailored to the needs of that vast market.
Now, however, as parent company BYD has already done, it's time to land in Europe.
Denza had already made a European debut at the IAA Mobility in Munich in 2023, with the preview of the D9 minivan - a luxurious 7-seater plug-in hybrid with 170 kW of power - which is now joined by the much more interesting N7 sports SUV 100% electric built on BYD's innovative ePlatform 3.0 which incorporates Blade batteries.
Denza N7, a 5-seater with all-wheel drive, benefits from the new generation DiSus-A air suspension system, which improves comfort and driving dynamics thanks to the possibility of adjusting height, rigidity and damping.
The interior of Denza N7 - with an elegant and 'rich' aesthetic - is completed with a premium audio system and a full suite of infotainment options.
N7 is among other things the first production Denza model to use Devialet's bespoke in-car audio system, which redefines the acoustic experience with immersive high-fidelity surround sound and ultra-low frequencies for optimal clarity.
The autonomy of this new SUV is 570 km according to Nedc regulations).
And it is the first to offer dual-port charging (230 kW) with the ability to go from 30% to 80% in 20 minutes.
The debut of Denza in the European market should take place - according to what was declared by BYD - by the end of this year.
