The spotlight at the Geneva Motor Show is on one of the most interesting products that the Chinese industry has dedicated to Europe, that of MG.

To the technological contents (and economic advantages) that are specific to these Chinese cars are therefore added the values of a brand that was born in 1924 in England as Morris Garage and which since 2007 has been part of the giant Saic Motor.

The MG3, in the wake of the other models already present in our country, brings two important innovations to the offer for Italy.

It is the first B-segment car and above all the first full hybrid to offer an advantageous combination of performance, efficiency and comfort.

"With MG3 Hybrid+ we have the opportunity to write an important chapter in technological evolution - commented Andrea Bartolomeo, vice president and country manager of Saic Motor Italy - We are arriving on the market with the first full hybrid MG which we define as + (plus) not for whim but because it clearly raises the bar of a technology that in our market has reached incredible levels and continues to grow".

And referring to the debut which will take place in our country next May, with orders opening as early as March, Bartolomeo said: "MG3 Hybrid+ is a city car with extraordinary contents also in terms of value for money, best in class. And which fully embodies the MG concept of fun-to-drive".

Mg's new Hybrid+ system is made up of five key elements: internal combustion engine, transmission, battery, electric motor and generator, an electrified technology that also offers excellent results in terms of performance.

With 8 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/ MG3 is in fact the B-segment hybrid model with the fastest acceleration in the category.

Just as the acceleration from 80 to 120 km/h in just 5 seconds is notable.

MG3 Hybrid+ has a system power of 143 kW (194 HP) and offers combined consumption according to WLTP approval of 4.4 liters/100 km and emissions of 100 g/km of CO2.

The 1.83 kWh battery allows a high driving range in electric-only mode, thus significantly increasing efficiency, especially in the city.

The system includes a 75 kW (101 HP) 1.5-litre petrol engine and a 100 kW electric motor, as well as a separate generator that allows different operating modes of the hybrid system.

The all-new MG3 arrives with three variants for European customers: standard, comfort and luxury, to compete with other B-segment models in terms of technology and standard equipment.

A distinctive feature of this new model is the dual-screen cockpit.

The driver has at his disposal a 7-inch digital screen and a central infotainment system with a 10.25-inch display, both characterized by great responsiveness.

On the central console, however, a series of switches with 'physical' buttons has been retained to maximize safety and practicality while driving.
