Ilias Akoudad confessed this Monday during the trial to having “shot the police officer Éric Masson”, who died on May 5, 2021 in the city center of Avignon (Vaucluse).

For almost three years, he maintained that he was completely unrelated to the death of Éric Masson, and to the shootings targeting his teammate.

Since Monday February 19 and until March 1, the 23-year-old young man appeared for "murder of a person holding public authority" and "attempted murder of a person holding public authority" before the court of 'Assizes of Vaucluse.
