The presidency of the Senate indicated Monday that disciplinary proceedings had been initiated against a medical secretary implicated in a case of possible “sex tape” blackmail in the upper house, also refuting any “link” between these accusations and the dismissal of a doctor.
“A judicial investigation is underway.
The Senate will provide its full support if it is referred to it,” said the institution chaired by Gérard Larcher on Monday evening, in a press release which returns to this affair made public by an article in Le Canard chainé of February 7.
The weekly mentioned the existence of a “sex tape” involving “a senator” and which would have become “a means of pressure” for a medical assistant in the course of her duties.
A compromising video that the former doctor of the upper house El Hassan Lmahdi, fired on February 15, indicates having viewed and reported to the Senate administration.
The dismissed doctor denounces abuse
The latter has estimated several times in recent days, in the press and in a letter to senators, that his dismissal was precisely due to this report.
“A disciplinary procedure has been initiated against the secretary implicated by the doctor as part of the ongoing administrative investigation into the dysfunctions of the medical office,” indicated the presidency of the Senate.
But “the dismissal of the Senate doctor is completely unrelated to the recordings he claims to hold and whose content he widely revealed,” insisted the presidency.
This explains that the doctor exercised, “without informing his superiors, a parallel professional activity” of “approved doctor issuing railway aptitude certificates in the interest of a commercial company”.
This activity would have “compromised the proper functioning of the medical office” and gave rise, according to the presidency of the High Assembly, to “a conflictual situation” which led to his dismissal.
Questioned by M6 on Monday, the dismissed doctor for his part accused the Senate authorities: “We had the wrong target.
They preferred to fire me than go to the real sources of the affair,” he said.
An open investigation
An investigation was opened in Paris after a report from Gérard Larcher, relating to “a potential sex tape used for blackmail purposes” within the Luxembourg Palace, the prosecution said last Thursday.
The investigations were entrusted to the Brigade for the Repression of Personal Delinquency of the Parisian judicial police.
