The Renault 5 E-Tech Electric has a precise mission, that of democratizing the electric car by taking the lines of the R5 sold in over 9 million units from 1972 to 1996 and moving them towards the future.

Born as a show car, it maintained the proportions of the concept, and today, for the first time, at the Geneva Motor Show, it was unveiled in public.

3.92 m long, 1.77 m wide, with a wheelbase of 2.54 m, and a load capacity of 326 litres, it is the first car built on the new AmpR Small platform, native for electric cars which features a compact battery , positioned low, and structured on 3-4 modules, for a consequent reduction in weight which, in general, remains below 1,500 kg.

The capacity reaches up to 52 kWh, while the maximum power will be 110 kW, or 150 HP, very close to that of the Abarth 500e.

For charging, with direct current, you get up to 100 kW of power, while the autonomy promises up to 400 km of travel with a charge in the WLTP cycle.

Furthermore, the new bidirectional alternating current battery charger is compatible with both V2L (vehicle-to-load) technologies for powering objects external to the car, and V2G (vehicle-to-grid, available in Italy soon), for transferring energy to the net.

The ride promises to be engaging thanks to direct steering and mutilink rear suspension.

Technology, in terms of infotainment, has taken a decisive step forward through the Renault avatar, which does not overlap with the Google assistant, but helps to understand the functions of the car and manage the electric vehicle while also giving advice to the user , for an approach that tends to simplify and optimize its use.
