The used car market (pending consolidation) closes 2023 - according to Unrae data - growing by 8.6% to 5,009,362 ownership transfers compared to 4,614,244 in 2022, but a decrease of 10.7 % on 2019. Net transfers increased by 7.1% and mini-transfers by 10.6%.
The month of December contributed with the 13th consecutive growth, although significantly downsizing: +0.6% with 412,971 transfers, due to the decline in net transfers.
In the whole of 2023, diesel confirms its first position among the preferred engines in the used market, with 47.5% (46.7% in December);
in second place was the petrol engine at 39% (-1.3% to 38.4% in December).
Hybrids occupy third position with 5.4% in the year and 6.6% in the month, followed by LPG (at 4.5% in 2023 and 4.6% in December).
Methane is positioned at 2.4%, while the net transfers of pure electric cars (BEV) and plug-in cover a share of 0.5% and 0.6% respectively.
