She would have escaped family supervision.
A little girl aged 18 months died this Monday, February 26 after drowning in a stream in the village of Outrebois (Somme), report our colleagues from Courrier Picard.
His body was found around 5:30 p.m. by residents of the village of 300 souls.
The firefighters and Samu were quickly called to the scene, and the little girl was airlifted to Amiens University Hospital to be taken care of, but that was not enough.
The flow of the stream accelerated by the heavy rains of recent days
“Obviously, the family started looking after the little girl.
Has she escaped the vigilance of her parents?
The fact remains that a quarter of an hour after the search began, young people looked under a small bridge and saw the little girl in the water,” Emmanuel Maréchal, mayor of the town, explained to Courrier Picard.
According to the local daily, the family lives in Outrebois and resides in the old village school.
The accident could have occurred due to the heavy rains which affected the department and the region in recent days, since they considerably raised the level of the stream in which the little girl was found.
An “18-month-old child who fell in could have been carried away quickly,” admitted the first councilor of Outrebois.
An investigation was opened and entrusted to the Doullens gendarmerie in order to understand how the little girl could have fallen into the stream, specifies France Bleu Picardie.
