Clearing snow from your car by hand or with a broom is tiring.
An amusing YouTube video shows how it can be much more relaxed.
Winter is associated with all sorts of inconveniences for drivers: frozen windshield wipers, for example, or icy vehicle doors.
However, there is another problem for electric car owners: the range of electric vehicles sometimes drops significantly in cold weather.
But perhaps in the future, drivers of a Nio electric car will no longer have to clear snow from their car by hand.
A YouTube video shows how a vehicle from the Chinese brand simply shakes off its “white coat” itself.

Nio presents ET9 with special chassis
The Chinese car manufacturer Nio follows a special approach to its battery technology: the empty batteries in the vehicles can be charged “normally” - but alternatively they can also be exchanged relatively quickly for full ones at so-called swap stations.
The top model, the Nio ET9, was presented in December 2023 - one of the special strengths with which the electric car manufacturer is advertising the vehicle, which is not yet available, is the chassis.
The so-called “Skyride” system is intended to offer very special comfort.
For this purpose, a YouTube clip from Nio, for example, shows the car driving over a test track with numerous small bumps with a pyramid of champagne glasses on the hood.
The contents slosh back and forth - but they stay in the glass.
A funny feature of the Nio ET9 is currently amusing YouTube users.

Like a wet dog: Nio ET9 shakes off layers of snow
But the chassis of the 5.3 meter long electric flagship can obviously do much more.
And the Stromer has a function that could be quite practical in winter, as another clip (can be found below) shows.
In it you can see an ET9 covered in snow, shaking itself like a wet dog and thereby freeing itself from its “white coat”.
The movements seem quite violent and are reminiscent of low-rider vehicles as seen in many hip-hop music videos.
In contrast to the low rider systems, the Nio does not move from top to bottom, but sideways.
Nio ET: Manufacturer promises battery replacement in just three minutes
For the ET 9, Nio promises a battery change in just three minutes - or alternatively a very high charging speed: If the battery is empty, power for a range of more than 250 kilometers should end up in the batteries in just five minutes.
However, customers in Europe will probably have to wait a while for the Nio ET9.
The first models are scheduled to be delivered in China in 2025.

Several Nio models are already available in Germany - including the electric station wagon ET5 Touring.
However, if you want to swap the battery in your vehicle instead of charging it, you first have to find a swap station: According to the company, there are currently eleven swap stations in this country (as of February 2024).
