McLaren has unveiled the new Artura Spider, its first convertible with a high-performance hybrid powertrain and second Artura model.

The new Spider is presented with new features starting from the increase in power, performance and driver involvement, which are combined with the pleasures of open-air driving.

To further enhance the Artura's next-generation supercar performance, the improvements made to the Spider have also been incorporated into the Artura coupé, with the simultaneous introduction of a new model.

Both the new Spider and the new coupé offer the highest levels of dynamic performance, as well as meeting the requirements of everyday driving and offering the quietness of electric driving.

The new Artura Spider has a dry weight of just 1,457kg, with a curb weight of just 1,560kg, just 62kg more than the Artura coupé.

These figures position the new Spider as the lightest among competing convertible cars with a low weight of up to 83kg.

McLaren's high-performance hybrid powertrain has been recalibrated, with an additional 20PS from the combustion V6 powerplant on the MY25 Artura, increasing overall output to 700PS.

The additional power is concentrated from 4,000 rpm to the maximum limit of 8,500 rpm.

The maximum torque value remains at 720 Nm, with delivery optimized by small changes to the electronic mapping.

This engine recalibration will also be made available free of charge to current Artura owners via their McLaren dealer.

The 3.0-litre M630 aluminum dry-sump petrol engine, which now achieves over 200hp per litre, is extremely compact and lightweight: at just 160kg it weighs 50kg less than a McLaren V8 engine and is significantly shorter, improving overall efficiency.
