Those who think they are caught are caught and Kamila Grabska learned this the hard way.

This 36-year-old Irish woman took her insurance company to court to obtain 760,000 euros in damages to compensate for the injuries she suffered after a car accident in 2017, reports The Irish Independent.

In her file, the young woman explained that the injuries she suffered to her back and neck had prevented her from working for more than five years or from playing with her children.

The accident occurred on February 3, 2017, when a vehicle collided from behind with a car in which Kamila Grabska, then aged 30, was.

The resident of Ennis, in County Clare in the west of Ireland, then took her insurance to court to receive significant compensation given the particularly disabling nature of her injuries.

“It is a very large natural Christmas tree which she throws with a very agile movement,” justified the judge in his decision, cited by The Irish Independent.

The court was also able to establish that it was only after this competition that the plaintiff had consulted a doctor.

She had claimed that she could no longer lift a heavy bag without feeling searing pain, specifies The Guardian.

This forced her to leave her job and she has since been receiving an allowance linked to her disability.

A file “in total contradiction” with his behavior

The complaint she filed against the insurance company was related to her loss of past and future income: Kamila Grabska testified that she was sometimes unable to leave her bed for several hours.

She denied faking her injuries and told the court she was "trying to live a normal life", which led to her taking part in the infamous Christmas tree toss competition in January 2018, despite her pain.

The court ultimately dismissed the case, finding that Kamila Grabska's behavior after the collision was "in complete contradiction" with the statements she made about her injuries.
