It was the children who ended up complaining to their parents.
A preliminary investigation was opened by the Bourg-en-Bresse public prosecutor's office "on the charge of violence against minors aged 15, by person in charge of a public service mission during the exercise of their functions" after that a teacher was accused of violence against her kindergarten students in a school in Gex (Ain), Le Parisien learned this Wednesday, February 28, confirming information from Dauphiné Libéré.
The investigation was entrusted to the Gex gendarmerie brigade "in order to verify the materiality of the facts denounced and their extent", added the Bourg-en-Bresse public prosecutor's office, which did not wish to specify the number of complaints filed. for now.
He “will make a decision on the direction of the prosecution as soon as the first elements of the investigation” are transmitted to him.
Bruises, bites and bloody lip
Several parents have filed complaints against the teacher and report being beaten “in the stomach and face”.
The mother of a student even told Dauphiné Libéré that her son came home from school with “bruises and bites” and that she made the decision to remove him from school in October, after he was found with a “bloody lip” at the end of school time.
Questioned by our colleagues, the mayor of the town remained very cautious: “I do not wish to comment until the investigation is completed, especially since we are talking about serious facts.
We remain vigilant, even if it is during school time and therefore National Education, and not town hall and extracurricular activities,” underlined Patrice Dunand.
Measures potentially taken “at the start of the school holidays”
Contacted by Le Parisien, the Lyon academy specified that an “internal investigation was opened” following the revelations of our colleagues.
Until then, no acts of violence had been reported to the National Education services.
“A few months ago tensions between the school management, municipal staff and parents of students were reported to us,” specifies the academy.
This led to the intervention of a National Education inspector to help calm the situation.
Due to the school holidays which are still in progress in the Lyon academy until March 4, no sanctions have yet been taken against the teacher.
“We have approached the judicial authority in order to determine whether a suspension measure should be pronounced,” however indicated the academy in view of the resumption of classes.
