Residents and relatives came to lay flowers at the scene of the tragedy, at a place called Simon in Saint-Thurial.
It was there, around twenty kilometers east of Rennes, that Anthony Boulier, 30, lost his life on the night of February 24 to 25.
Beaten to death with a baseball bat because he had the misfortune to honk his horn while passing in front of his attackers' home.
Condemned to eternal silence, he will no longer see his mother, Gwenaëlle, his 3-year-old son and his partner, Cassandra, who is due to give birth to their second child in a few days.
“It’s an absolute tragedy, everyone is upset,” confides a trader from Saint-Péran, the town where Anthony had lived for a few years and for which he had worked for two years.
“He was one of the very active and beloved members of the Saint-Péran festival committee and was always the first to lend a hand,” explains the municipality on Facebook.
