The 2024 Defender Rally Series vehicle and driver range has been revealed, ahead of the opening round of this year's British Championship, scheduled for Saturday 2 March.
According to the organizers' objectives, this year's Defender Rally Series UK edition will be the most competitive in the history of the championship, with a maximum of 16 pairs of drivers and co-drivers competing in individual events.
The competitions will see drivers compete in the UK's premier one-make off-road racing championship.
This season, each specially prepared Defender 90 will feature a unique version of the new 2024 championship livery, personalized by each competitor with their chosen color behind a distinctive black motif.
“The Defender Rally Series competitions – commented Mark Cameron, Defender and Discovery managing director – showcase the all-terrain capabilities of our vehicles, highly performing in the most difficult environments. In true heroic spirit, competitors take a new Defender 90 and , with light specialist rally training, face a series of arduous challenges to test the robustness of the vehicle and the endurance of the crew."
The series' rally-prepared Defenders are closely related to the P300 production models with additional safety features, including race-spec seats, FIA-approved roll cages and fire extinguishers.
They use the same powerful 300PS Ingenium petrol engine, eight-speed ZF automatic transmission and advanced all-wheel drive system as the dealership models.
The third annual Defender Rally Series features seven rounds and begins with a bespoke Defender event at Walters Arena in Wales (2-3 March).
Each round is designed to allow competitors to develop their skills in a closed, competitive field, whether they are new to rallying or experienced drivers looking to develop and progress to higher level competition.
