Thanks to its ability to best adapt to all road conditions, the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 Hybrid has become the reference in world rallying and its characteristics have been transferred to the new road GR Yaris.
The car was put to the test on Finnish snow and ice, where it showed off even more incisive behavior thanks to the technical, design and construction improvements, to which both the Toyota Gazoo Racing engineers, the Master Drivers and the professionals contributed. of racing and rallies.
The evolution starts from the three-cylinder turbo engine with more power and torque (+20 HP and +30 Nm);
continues with the introduction of a brand new eight-speed Gazoo Racing Direct automatic transmission, designed for gear changes with racing levels of rapidity;
through the reinforced chassis, and through a cockpit with redesigned dashboard and revised driving position.
There is no shortage of suspension tuning to promote solidity and agility, an additional radiator, an intercooler spray, and a modified air intake.
The flagship of the new generation GR Yaris is the GR-Four electronically controlled permanent all-wheel drive, in which the distribution of torque between the front and rear axles is regulated by a quick-response coupling, while two slip differentials limited Torsen manage the distribution between the left and right wheels to give natural and direct control of the car.
Additionally, the driver can adjust all-wheel drive performance to suit his or her preferences or driving situation using a 4WD mode selector.
Thus, in Track mode the balance shifts to the rear, with a variable distribution of the drive torque between 60:40 and 30:70 to achieve fun driving on winding roads and circuits;
and in Gravel mode the base setting is 53:47 for fast, competitive riding on circuits or special stages.
