Apple has been secretly working on its own electric car for many years.
Once planned as a “robotaxi”, there has recently been a change in strategy.
Now comes the surprising outcome.
Creating a new car brand from scratch isn't all that difficult - but staying successful on the market is.
Many car start-ups wanted to take advantage of the hype of electromobility, but only a few ultimately managed to make it to the winning road.
Byton, for example, is now insolvent and the German electric and solar car Sono Sion is also not being built.
Technology fans looked with great excitement to Apple in Cupertino, California.
The iPhone company was secretly working on its own car under the name “Project Titan”.
Now Apple has apparently pulled the plug on its own car.

Just recently there was a change in strategy - now apparently all development on the Apple car has been stopped
According to various media reports, Apple had been working on an autonomous vehicle for a long time.
But it was clearly still a long way from being ready for series production: Recently there was a change in strategy with the Apple “iCar” – instead of a fully autonomous vehicle, they wanted to concentrate on an electric car with driving assistance systems.
But according to reports from the news agencies
Bloomberg
and
Reuters
, this idea is now apparently history: development on the car project has therefore been stopped.
According to reports, many of the supposedly around 2,000 people who worked on the car will now be involved in artificial intelligence (AI) projects in the future.
Many technology fans have been waiting for the Apple car for many years - but now development on the project has apparently been stopped.

Sony and Xiaomi: Two tech giants have already presented their own electric cars
There was recently speculation that the Apple car would be launched in 2028.
Maybe that seemed a little late to those responsible.
Because other tech companies were a little faster: Sony recently presented the Afeela electric car in collaboration with Honda.
And the Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi has already presented an electric car with the SU7.
The Chinese have big plans: Xiaomi says it wants to become one of the five largest automobile manufacturers in the world in the next 15 to 20 years.
