Lexus expands the line-up of the Full Electric RZ SUV with new front-wheel drive versions.
If the Japanese company's model was introduced for the first time with all-wheel drive, now Lexus has decided to offer a wider choice for the RZ by introducing a front-wheel drive version.
The novelty allows Lexus to create a new entry point to the RZ range, with a lower price but without sacrificing the specific characteristics of the first electric vehicle designed by Lexus, from craftsmanship to Omotenashi-style hospitality.
The electric powertrain remains the same, but without the rear eAxle and inverter, used instead in the AWD versions.
The most significant consequence resulting from this is the reduction in the vehicle's curb weight, as well as greater autonomy.
The official range in the WLTP combined cycle now reaches 480 km with 18-inch wheels.
With 20-inch wheels, the value drops to 419 km.
The respective ranges for the AWD are 440 km and 395 km.
The electric motor and lithium-ion battery produce a maximum power of 204 hp/150kW, with a maximum torque of 266 Nm available from 0 rpm.
This ensures rapid acceleration, with a sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in eight seconds.
The marketing of the new Fwd models in Italy is expected in the second half of 2024.
