As part of its initiatives in terms of research into new technologies of the future, Suzuki Motor Corporation has announced a partnership with Soracom, a Japanese company specializing in the Internet of Things, which connects devices to each other and to the cloud.
The Japanese manufacturer of automobiles, motorcycles and outboard motors and Soracom, a global Internet of Things (IoT) provider, announced that they have signed an agreement to apply the Internet of Things to electric vehicles and new mobility services.
Together, Suzuki and Soracom will explore the opportunities offered by the latest Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to develop new offerings focused on mobility services.
Potential areas of interest include electric vehicles for the global market, modular 'mobility base units' and new technologies and services designed for carbon neutrality.
The two companies will work to develop new mobility services that provide the infrastructure needed for business and personal activities in a sustainable society.
Soracom is a technology partner of more than 20,000 startups, SMEs and enterprises, and connects more than 6 million IoT devices globally.
